On his 31st birthday, Novak Djokovic took a pledge and dedicated his birthday to his Foundation – the Novak Djokovic Foundation and to the Early Childhood Education.
Novak launched a fundraising charitable project through Facebook and asked his fans from all around the world to help him raise $31,000 USD which will help 442 children to attend pre-school for a month.
“I’ve decided to dedicate this birthday to a cause near and dear to my heart: the Novak Djokovic Foundation. We opened NDF in 2007 and since then our team has worked in Serbia to enable children from disadvantaged communities to grow up, play and develop in stimulative, creative and safe settings, whilst learning to respect others and care for their environment.
“Join me in supporting our cause. Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. By reaching our goal, we will help 442 children attend preschool for a month, which is a great start! Thank you for your support #NoleFam! Children are our future,” Novak posted on Facebook.
And after 3 days, with the donations and support of his fans from all around the world, Novak reached his goal and raised $31,000 USD.
Novak, on this occasion, took to Facebook to thank his fans through a live video.
“We have reached our goal and we have succeeded in fundraising 31 thousand dollars as my birthday pledge for Novak Djokovic Foundation. I just want to thank all of you guys for contributing. Every little contribution means a lot and it can change and trasform a lot of children lives,” Novak said.
